Welcome to the website of the 62nd FEFPEB congress, to be held on 30 September and
1 October 2010 in Brussels, the heart of the European Union.

Two years after the highly successful 61^st FEFPEB congress in Hamburg and one year on from Interpal VII 2009 in Philadelphia, it is definitely time to assemble for the next FEFPEB congress to hear about and discuss major developments that will impact on the European timber pallet and packaging industry.

Since 2008 the global economic crisis heavily impacts on the wooden pallet and packaging industry.

And there are more threats to deal with, such as the pine wood nematode infestations in Portugal and the new and proposed EU emergency measures to deal with the threat from non-native invasive pests.

More than ever we need to promote our raw material against often unfair attacks by alternative materials.

There is concern on the future availability of timber for pallets and packaging, as a consequence of biomass policy in favour of the renewable energy industry.

All major trends, threats and opportunities will be included into the agenda of the business session on 1 October 2010.
We already are able to announce five top class speakers.
Although it is not a full scale congress, (professional industry tours are not practical), this congress will be extremely valuable as it focuses on key decisions to be taken in Brussels.  

A FEFPEB congress is the outstanding occasion to meet colleagues and friends in the industry. The social side of the congress certainly will live up to your expectations.
