30th MEETING OF THE EU DEFORESTATION PLATFORM: CEI-BOIS SUMMARY OF THE MAIN POINTS
18 Dec 2024 On 6 December 2024, CEI-Bois attended in person the 30th meeting of the EU Deforestation Platform. On this occasion, the European Commission highlighted that a simplification of the EUDR will continue through the updating of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and the Guidance document.

EUDR: LAUNCH OF THE EUDR INFORMATION SYSTEM

PPWR CORRIGENDUM TEXT APPROVED BY THE NEW EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
5 Dec 2024 The next step is the formal approvement by the European Council and that is expected mid December 2024. Consequently the text of the PPWR will be published in the EU Official Journal (Q1 / 2025) and the Regulation will enter into force 18 months later (2026).

EUDR - EU NEGOTIATORS AGREE TO ONE-YEAR DELAY OF ANTI-DEFORESTATION LAW
5 Dec 2024 On 3 December 2024 the trilogue negotiators reached an agreement on the proposal to delay the EU’s new anti-deforestation rules by one year. Originally scheduled to apply from 30 December 2024 on, the regulation is now scheduled to be enforced from 30 December 2025 on, allowing companies and trading partners an extra 12 months to get ready to comply with new tracing and due diligence requirements.
