EUDR - EU NEGOTIATORS AGREE TO ONE-YEAR DELAY OF ANTI-DEFORESTATION LAW
5 Dec 2024 On 3 December 2024 the trilogue negotiators reached an agreement on the proposal to delay the EU’s new anti-deforestation rules by one year. Originally scheduled to apply from 30 December 2024 on, the regulation is now scheduled to be enforced from 30 December 2025 on, allowing companies and trading partners an extra 12 months to get ready to comply with new tracing and due diligence requirements.

FEFPEB membership hears tech advances will transform pallets and packaging within ten years
3 Oct 2024 Pallet and packaging companies heard that they should expect significant change in their businesses within a decade, during a presentation on the imminent impact of artificial intelligence (AI). In the concluding speech to the annual congress of the European Federation of Wooden Pallet & Packaging Manufacturers (FEFPEB) – Artificial Intelligence – opportunities for the wooden pallet and packaging industry - business development and innovation expert and author Thierry Moubax of Compass AI said approximately 90 per cent of jobs would not exist as we know them 10 years from now.

3 Oct 2024 The 71st FEFPEB congress was held from 25 - 27 September 2024 in Oostend and Bruges in Belgium. An excellent congress location at the Thermae Palace hotel at the beach and with fine facilities to accommodate 230 congress participants.

3 Oct 2024 EUDR update: Commission announces 12-months EUDR postponement, new guidance documents and updated FAQ + new technical provisions concerning TARIC system. After the EUDR update at the 71st FEFPEB congress last week in Belgium, a lot happened and this is to inform you on the postponement proposal by the European Commission. More time for a proper implementation and this is for the moment a relief for all stakeholders. Nevertheless our efforts in this field, in close co-operation with other umbrella institutions, will continue.
